Lester W. Gardner, 96 of Keota, formally of Iowa City, died Friday, January 28, 2022 at the Keota Health Care Center.
Funeral Services have been set for 1:00 PM, Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Sharon Hill Cemetery. A memorial in the name of Lester W. Gardner has been established for the American Cancer Society.
Lester was born November 10, 1925 in Washington Co., Iowa the son of Oscar and Opal (McBride) Gardner. He was united in marriage to Laverne Klingler, December 23, 1967 at the First United Methodist Church in Iowa City.
He was employed as an Iowa City bus driver for over 20 years and enjoyed photography and yodeling.
Survivors include sister Mildred Kamper of Washington, IA and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Laverne; three brothers, Earl, Cloyd, Donald; sisters Helen Tackenberg and Gladys Gardner.
