Linda Teets

Linda Sue Teets, 57, of Kalona, died Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at her home in Kalona surrounded by her family. A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at 10:30 AM at the Kalona Mennonite Church. Burial will follow at Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. The service will also be available via livestream at the Beatty Peterseim Facebook Page. Visitation will be held Monday, October 19, 2020, from 12 – 7 PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona, where the family will be present from 4 – 7 PM. Social distancing guidelines will be in place and facemasks are encouraged. A memorial fund for the family’s use has been established.

Linda Sue (Waters) Teets was born January 14, 1963, in Roseburg, Oregon, the daughter of John and Arvilla (Mast) Waters. She was a 1981 High School graduate and received an Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy from Kirkwood Community College. On June 13, 1987, she was united in marriage to Jerry D. Teets at Crooked Creek Christian Camp in Wayland. Linda worked for Grant Wood AEA in occupational therapy and later became a homemaker and assisted Jerry with the family photography business, J. Teets Studio. Linda loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed reading and being in nature. She did everything with love and her beautiful faith encouraged and inspired those around her.

Survivors include her four children: Gregory of Centerville, Elissa and Jessie of Kalona and Marshal of Hudson, her mother and father John and Arvilla Waters of Kalona, her mother-in-law Marg Teets of Kalona, six siblings: Terry (Lagkana) Waters of North Liberty, Ron Waters of Kalona, Ruth (Robert) Cunard of Missouri Valley, Rose (Kevin) Bachus of Solon, Keith (Karen) Waters of Iowa City, Crystal (Aaron) Rath of Riverside, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Linda in death was her husband Jerry on November 26, 2015 and father-in-law Robert Teets on March 4, 2015.
