Linda Lou (Baer) Wenger, 72, went home to be with her Savior in her home near Wayland, Iowa on Saturday night, December 26, 2015, surrounded by her family. Her Beginning of Heavenly Life Celebration will be held Friday, January 1, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Bethel Mennonite Church, Wayland, with Pastor Curt Kuhns officiating. Following the service the family will greet friends and have a time of fellowship and a meal. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Bethel Mennonite Church, where family will greet friends from 6 – 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to Bethel Mennonite Church to be distributed to a charity of the family's choice.
Linda was born December 11, 1943 in Wauseon, Ohio, the daughter of Lawrence and Myrtie (Frey) Baer. She married the love of her life, Robert Wenger, on March 21, 1964 in Archbold, Ohio. They lived near Wayland, Iowa for most of the 52 years of their marriage. They dedicated their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ by serving others through volunteer service, children's ministry, foster parenting and working with children with special needs.
Linda is survived by her husband Robert, children Phil (Ginny) Wenger, Annette (Alan) Goetsch, Devon (Trent) Grimes, grandchildren Cassie (Kaleb) Foxen, Jesse Wenger, Sarah Goetsch, AJ Goetsch, Uriah Grimes and Ana Grimes, great grandson Ben Foxen, sisters Mim Baer, Esther Lewis, Connie (Steve) Blake, brother Ed (Marlene) Baer and sister-in-law Sherry Baer.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, older brother Curtis Baer, infant brother Elwood Baer, and brother-in-law Jack Lewis.
