A celebration of life for Marjorie L. Stockstell, 89 of Washington will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 11:00AM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona.  The body will be cremated after the service.  Visitation will be held from 10AM until 11AM on Tuesday.  A general memorial fund has been established.  Marjorie Stockstell died Friday, April 6, 2012 at the University of Iowa Hospital following a short illness. Marjorie Lillian Stockstell was born February 1, 1923 in Victor, Iowa the daughter of Ed and Mary (Calvert) Dietrich.  She attended rural school in the Victor area.  On November 23, 1940 she was united in marriage to Raymond Stockstell in Keswick, Iowa.  Marjorie worked as a cook at Head Start in Washington for many years and was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington.  She enjoyed spending time with children, cooking, camping, fishing, golfing, taking road trips, shopping, playing bingo and going to the casino. Survivors include her husband Raymond of Washington, one daughter, Kathy of Washington, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.  Also surviving are two brothers, Donald and wife Frances Dietrich of Marengo, IA, Leonard and wife Thelma Dietrich of Williamsburg, IA, and two sisters in law, Shirley Dietrich of Vinton, IA and Lucy Dietrich of Cedar Rapids, IA. Preceding Marjorie in death were her parents, two sons, Ron and Tim Stockstell, two daughters, Betty Ann Stockstell and Mary Reschly, two grandchildren, Amanda Lynn Stockstell and Shawndell Brandon Stockstell, and two brothers, Richard and Gary Dietrich.
