Mary Irene Jennett of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa died Friday, December 13, 2002 at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00, Wednesday, December 18, 2002 at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Nick Adams officiating. Rosary prayer service will be Tuesday at 5:00 P.M. at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with visitation from Noon till 6:00 P.M Tuesday. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Mass on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the American Cancer society or the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
She was a faithful member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
Mary was born in Boswell, Indiana the daughter of Charles and Anna Leonard. She grew up in Hoopeston, Illinois where she was employed by Meadowood dairy and the Illinois Canning Factory. There she met and married her lifelong husband and companion Paul on September 25, 1946. He preceded her in death in 1997. Mary and her husband moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1958 where they owned and operated Jennett Hardware for many years, during those years Mary worked at the Henry County Hospital has a nurses aide.
Survivors include her five children, Mike Jennett and Mary Anna Egan , both of Nashville, TN, Sara Bieber of Alexendria, VI, Jean Letien of Arlington, VA and Gerald Jennett of Washington D.C.; two grandsons, Bret Egan and Brian Jennett; one brother Charles (Bud) Leonard of Las Vegas, NV.
