Patricia Petersen

December 16, 1933 — April 2, 2013

A celebration of life for Patricia “Pat” A. Petersen, 79 of Washington will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Jim Stiles officiating. The body will be cremated following the service and a graveside service will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held Friday, April 5 from 4-6 PM at the Beatty Funeral Home. A general memorial fund has been established. Patricia "Pat" A. Petersen died Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the Washington County Hospital.

Patricia Ann Petersen was born December 16, 1933 in Bronson, Iowa the daughter of Louis and Rose (Stodden) Uhl. She was married to Dwight Morehead until he passed away. They had two daughters; Diane Evanovich and Darla (John) Schultz. Pat married Don Petersen in 1973. They owned and operated the Sportsmans Center in Vergas, MN until they sold it and moved back to Iowa. Don passed away in 2006. Pat had worked at Pamida and had just recently retired from HyVee in Washington. She loved to fish, travel and spend time with her family, grandchildren, and friends.

Pat is survived by two daughters; Diane Evanovich of Washington, IA, Darla (John) Schultz of Pelican Rapids, MN, five grandchildren; Adam, Brett and Jared of Washington, IA, Steven (Sara) of Fargo, ND, Jeremiah of Pelican Rapids, MN, two great grandchildren; Jude and Linus of Fargo, SD, four sisters; Mary (George) Harrington, Angeline Jones, Gloria Snyder, Caroline (Richard) Van Voorst, and two brothers; Richard (Dorothy) Uhl and Jim (Irene) Uhl, and special friend Joe Shelman.

Preceding Pat in death were her parents and her husbands; Dwight and Don, one brother; Gerald Uhl and brother in law; Robert Jones.
