Raymond Stockstell

May 26, 1920 — May 16, 2015

A celebration of life for Raymond C. Stockstell, 94, of Washington, will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona with Chaplain Robert Spilger officiating.  The body will be cremated following the service.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 2 – 3 PM.  Burial will be at a later date.  A general memorial fund has been established.  Raymond C. Stockstell died Saturday, May 16, 2015 at McCreedy Home in Washington.

Raymond Cecil Stockstell was born May 26, 1920 in Houston, MO, the son of Charles Stockstell and Lillian Ward.  He was united in marriage to Marjorie Dietrich in Keswick, Iowa on November 23, 1940.  Raymond served in the United States Navy during World War II.  He worked as a forklift operator at Crane Company for 15 years.  Raymond was a member of the Lutheran Church and enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his family.  He played the guitar and played with the Iowa Plowboys band.

Survivors include one daughter,  Kathy Stockstell of Washington, IA,  several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, one brother, Charles Stockstell, of Marshalltown, IA,  and one sister Emmajean Young of Chicago, IL.

Preceding Raymond in death were his parents, his wife Marjorie in 2012, two sons; Ron and Tim Stockstell, two daughters; Betty Ann Stockstell and Mary Reschly and two grandchildren; Shawndell and Amanda Stockstell.
