Richard Wayne Hyde, 87 of Washington, died Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington.

Funeral Services have been set for 3:00PM Sunday, June 6, 2021 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Kwang Song officiating. His body will be cremated following the service and interred at the Elm Grove Cemetery at a later day. Visitation will be from 1:00PM to service time Sunday at the Beatty Funeral Home with the family present from 1-3:00PM. In lieu of flowers memorial may be designated to Hospice of Washington County.

Wayne was born May 15, 1934 in Washington, Iowa the son of Robert Wilson and Lena Marie (Churchill) Hyde. He attended New Haven school and graduated from Washington High School in 1952. He was united in marriage to Jean French on June 12, 1955 at the United Methodist Church. Wayne served in the US Army from 1957-1959.

He was a lifelong member of the Washington United Methodist Church. Employed with the United States Postal Service for 30+ years, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed coffee at Hy-Vee and had a strong attachment to the television and watching Madlock.

Survivors include his wife Jean of Washington, daughter Jody Swift and husband Dana of Carnation, WA and grandson Parker of Carnation, WA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Judy Ann on October 29, 1981.
