Robert “Bob” G. Ritz, 69 of Wayland, died unexpectedly Thursday, November 21, 2002 at the Henry County Hospital in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral Services have been set for 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 25, 2002 at the Wayland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Hartman officiating. Burial will be in the Wayland Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Noon Sunday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Wayland with family present from 4-6:00 P.M. A memorial in the name of Bob Ritz has been established to the Wayland Methodist Church and Wayland First Responders.

Bob was born November 26, 1932 near Fairfield, Iowa the son of Guy E. and Edna (Roberts) Ritz. On August 19, 1950 he was united in marriage to Ella Louise Crafton in Kahoka, MO.

He farmed, drove a truck and retired from Blue Bird after working there for 21 years. He enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and friends.

Survivors include his wife Ella of Wayland; Three daughters, Brenda Alliman and husband Joe of Wayland, Connie Stafford and husband Wayne of Winfield, IA and Sandie Clark and husband John of Wayland; eight brothers, Don Ritz of Mt. Pleasant, Dale Ritz and wife Pat of Bonaparte, IA, Rich Davison and wife Judy of Mt. Pleasant, Ron Roberts of Brighton, John Roberts and wife Tammy of Jones, OK, Gary Roberts of Brighton, Terry Roberts and wife Sheryl of Kendallville, IN and Danny Gill and wife MaryAnn of Brighton; ten sisters, Jan Holt and husband Charles of Lebanon, MO, Carol Bucher and husband Larry of Willow Springs, MO, Marty Swanson and husband Archie of Goodman, WI, Lois Doyle and husband Wayne of Lebanon, MO, Patty Cornell and husband Earl of Buena Vista, AR, Bert Turner and husband Ben of Washington, Melva Howell of Washington, Kaye Blanchard and husband Jerry of Oskaloosa, IA, Arlene Hauser and husband Tim of Washington and Vicky Wallace of Leesville, LA; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, foster parents, one brother, two sisters and two grandchildren.
