Roger A. Young, 75, of Washington, passed from this life on Friday, July 31, 2026, at the Washington County Hospital. A private family burial will be held at the Crawfordsville Cemetery. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Roger Andrew Young was born July 22, 1951, in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, the son of Chester J. and Frances (Durst) Young. He graduated from WACO High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Northeast Missouri State College. He worked as a truck driver for Sinn Truck Line and later for Coleman Construction. He enjoyed deer hunting, mushroom hunting, and creating items out of Chainmaille.

Survivors include two sisters: Diane Singer of College Station, TX, and Irene Young (John) of Iowa City, IA; and four nieces and nephews: Lori Norton (Keith), James “Jay” Singer (Amanda), Alex Young and Lindsey Harris (Remington); and two great-nieces: Kayla and Karly Norton.

Preceding Roger in death were his parents and his brother-in-law Greg Singer.
