Ronald Goff

Ron Goff, 79, of Washington Iowa, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 8, 2017.  Visitation will be held Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 1 – 6 pm at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, where the family will receive friends from 4 – 6 pm.  A memorial service for Ron will be on Monday, February 13 at 2:00 pm also at the Beatty Funeral Home.  Private family burial will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, prior to the service.  Memorial donations may be made in Ron’s name to the American Heart Association.


Ronald A. Goff was born August 3, 1937, the son of Clarence and Alice B. (Wead) Goff in Washington, Iowa.  He graduated from Washington High School in 1956, attended Coe College and served in the Iowa National Guard.  Ron lived most of his life in Washington and was a passionate man who enjoyed cars. He worked as the owner of Goff’s Real Estate in Washington until his retirement.  In his spare time he enjoyed going to classic car shows, having coffee with friends, and watching TV.  Ron was there to help his sons and friends with household projects, farm work, or whatever else they need him for.

Ron was proud of his two sons Tim Goff of Bailey, Colorado, and Jim Goff of Washington, Iowa. He was a fun and loving grandfather to granddaughters Jillian and Alecia.  He is also survived by nephews Steve Goff and Gary Goff of Iowa City as well as his many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Alice Goff, and brother Dean Goff.
