Russell Lintz, 58, of Richmond, died Wednesday, January 7, 2026, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond. The service will be available via Livestream at the Beatty Peterseim Facebook and YouTube pages. Burial will follow at the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 3 – 7 PM on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where a Rosary will be recited at 2:30 PM. A memorial fund has been established for the Kalona Volunteer Fire Department, Kalona First Responders, Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Russell was born June 28, 1967, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, the son of Richard and Shirley (Neuzil) Lintz. He graduated from Mid-Prairie High School in 1985. Russell was a farmer all of his life, raising cattle and hogs, and was also a mail carrier for the Kalona USPS for the past 18 years.

He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Richmond Sons of the Am Vets. He enjoyed playing pool, going to country music concerts and the Iowa State Fair. He also enjoyed hunting deer, coyotes, fox and pheasants, and had a lot of fox and coyote hounds. Russell had a large garden and he was always canning pickles and tomatoes.

Survivors include his brother Jeff of Kalona, two sisters: Lori Lintz of Georgia and Barb (Doug) Colbert of Riverside, two nephews: James (Jenny) Colbert and Matthew Colbert, great-nephew Colt Colbert, special friend Stephanie Comer and his faithful four-legged companion, Harvey.

Preceding Russell in death were his parents.
