Sara Bohne

Sara J. Bohne, 60 of Washington, died Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the Washington County Hospital in Washington. Funeral Services have been set for Monday, March 12, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 2 – 5 PM at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. A general memorial fund has been established.

Sara was born October 7, 1957 in Washington, Iowa the daughter of Max Hyde and Marie Jane (Cocayne) Shepherd. She graduated from Washington High School and worked at Modine in Washington for 39 years. Sara enjoyed shopping, fishing and spending time with her nieces and nephews. Sara was an avid Cubs, Hawkeyes, and car racing fan. She also loved working as a bartender at the Wagon Wheel.

Survivors include her husband Jim of Washington; a brother Ed Shepherd and wife Gwen of Washington, two brothers-in-law: Mike Bohne of Davenport, Bill (Sherry) Bohne of South Carolina, one sister-in-law Barb (Mike) Bowers of Eldridge Iowa, Godmother Esther Hartman of Washington, and special friend Candi Starr.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers Sam and Bill.
