Shirley Louise (Neuzil) Lintz was born August 7, 1936, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Aloysius J. and Mabel (Lenoch) Neuzil. She attended Horace Mann school and graduated from St. Patrick’s High School in Iowa City. On April 23, 1955, she was united in marriage to Richard Lintz at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City. Shirley worked at the Johnson County Treasurers office and in food service for Mid-Prairie Jr. High and Elementary. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and Richmond Am Vets Ladies Auxiliary. Shirley was a hard worker, raising chickens, hauling in corn and raising vegetables in her garden, and canning. She was an excellent cook, providing food for many families going through the loss of a loved one. Her specialties included cream puffs, dill pickle wraps and kolaches.

Survivors include her sons Jeff and Russell Lintz of Kalona, daughters Lori Lintz of Georgia and Barb (Doug) Colbert of Riverside, two grandsons: Matthew and James Colbert and four siblings: Don (Arlene) Neuzil, Bill Neuzil, Joan Chaloupka and Dave Neuzil.

Preceding Shirley in death were her parents, her husband Richard in 2000, brother Dick Neuzil and sister Mary Ann Moore.

I'm sorry this is late but I just learned today that your mom passed away. I am so sorry to hear that. She was an incredibly kind person. Always with a smile. And always so helpful to people. She and Mom were such good friends. Our parents are probably together now playing a good game of cards . I will remember her with such fondness .
