Stephen Clark Caldwell

Stephen C. Caldwell, 82, of Wellman, passed from this life on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Parkview Manor in Wellman. Per his wishes, his body has been cremated and no service will be held. Donations in Steve’s name can be designated to the Iowa City Zen Center. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Stephen Clark Caldwell was born December 31, 1941, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Clark and Margaret (Knowles) Caldwell. He graduated from Iowa City High School and earned a degree in business at Iowa State University. He worked as a massage therapist and was a lifelong pursuer of his dreams.

Survivors include his son Steve (Wende) Fugate of Kalona, grandchildren Maizy and Zeus Fugate of Iowa City, two sisters: Mary Veldey of La Crosse, Wisconsin, Patty Dow of California, and niece Jane Veldey.

Preceding Steve in death were his parents, his sister Jenny Peterson, and nephew Mark Veldey.
