Steven Allen Griffin, 74, of Wayland, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the Parkview Home.
Steven's body has been cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Steven was born on March 14, 1952, in Washington, the son of Richard Buck and Nadine Griffin. He graduated from Washington High School and spent many years as an over-the-road truck driver. Throughout his career, he worked for Shelman and Son, Dickey Transport, L & J Farms, and OCT.
Steven had a passion for auto racing and motorcycles. He enjoyed watching western movies, studying history, and was well known for, and often joking, "I am the King of useless knowledge." His quick wit and love of sharing interesting facts will be fondly remembered by those who knew him.
He is survived by his son, Andy of Des Moines, daughter Heather (Tony) St. Clair; his brothers, Mark (Jeri) Buck of Washington, Dean Buck of Denver Colorado; sisters, Carla(Randy)Peiffer, LeAnn(Mike Hammes)Kruse, Leza Arbogast and a sister in law Deana Buck all of Washington; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, niece's n nephews, great niece's and nephews and great great nephew; Uncle Roger Griffin of Kalona and one Aunt Katie Kiesey of Coralville. Many cousins and special friends, Nathan, Jordan and Hollie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sue; brother, Mike and niece Linda Buck.
