Susan Yoder

A funeral service for Susan H. (Miller) Yoder, 102 of rural Riverside will be held Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 9:30 am at the Perry Hershberger home at 1120 Palm Avenue, Riverside, with Bishop Clayton Borntrager officiating.  Burial will follow at the Peter Miller Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 9 from 1:30 – 8:00 pm and Wednesday, August 10 from 1:30 – 8:00 pm at the Perry Hershberger Home. Susan Yoder died Monday, August 8, 2016 at her home in rural Riverside.

Susan H Yoder was born in Rerno County, Kansas, the daughter of Harvey C and Mary (Fry) Miller on January 23, 1914.  She moved with her parents to Kalona, Iowa in 1931. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Chruch until her death.  She was united in marriage to Ben L. Yoder on October 15, 1936, they lived in matrimony for 68 years until his passing in 2004.  To this union were born three sons and two daughters: Philip, Mary Edna, Solomon, Anna and Benjamin.

Survivors include three sons: Philip and wife Carolyn Yoder of Fairbanks, IA., Solomon and wife Katie Yoder of Kalona, IA., Benjamin and wife Nancy Yoder of Iowa City, IA., one daughter, Anna Miller of Riverside, IA, son-in-law, Isaac Hershberger of Riverside, IA., 35 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 115 great-great grandchildren and one sister, Edna Miller of Kalona, IA.

Preceding Susan in death were her parents, her husband, her daughter Mary Edna, four sisters, nine brothers and six grandchildren.
