Susan Yoder

Funeral services for Susan Yoder, 71, of Kalona will be held Friday, October 17, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Sharon Bethel Church with Pastors Delmar Bontrager, Gabriel Beachy and Lamar Ropp officiating.  Burial will follow at the Sharon Bethel Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 15 from 7 – 8:30PM and Thursday, October 16 from 2- 5 and 6 -  8 PM at the Sharon Bethel Church.  A memorial fund has been establised for Sharon Bethel Church. Susan Yoder died Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona.  Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Susan Mae Yoder was born July 30, 1943 in rural Kalona, Iowa, daughter of Lloyd and Clarissa (Hochstedler) Yoder.  She attended East Lincoln School.  Susan was a housekeeper for Joe Chody and two children: Randy and Rosemary.  She also worked at the Kalona Bakery, and the deli at JW's, which she really enjoyed.  Cooking was her hobby, and to entertain her friends.  Susan was a member of Sharon Bethel Mennonite Church.  She loved flowers, visiting and her extended family.

Survivors include her siblings, Velma Yoder of Kalona, Iowa, Willis and Wilma Yoder of Kalona, and Alta Yoder of Kalona, a sister in law, Esther Yoder of Kalona, 12 nieces and nephews and a number of great nieces and nephews.

Preceding Susan in death were her parents, a brother, Ernest Yoder, a sister, Pauline Yoder, an infant brother, Glen Dale Yoder and infant sister, Anna Marie Yoder and a sister, Iva Yoder who died in early childhood.
