Toban Zechin

May 1, 2020 — May 1, 2020

Toban Josiah Zechin lived in his mother's womb for 30 weeks and 4 days. On April 28, his nurse midwife discovered that Toban's very special heart had stopped. Toban entered this world on Friday, May 1, 2020 where his body was held in the loving arms of his parents, but his soul was already held in the loving arms of Jesus. Toban was diagnosed with Trisomy 18, a genetic disorder that caused many abnormalities from his head to his toes. God created his body in this unique way and the journals written by his mother about his life in the womb filled people with faith, hope, love, grace, peace and strength. Toban's heart was on the outside of his body, which made it so big and strong on every ultrasound image. The deeper meanings of life brought forth from his vivid heartbeat will not be forgotten by those who heard his story. Even though the days of Toban's life were so few, the impact of his life reached so many.

There will be a Happy Heaven Day Celebration for Toban, 11:00 AM Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church near Wayland with the family greeting friends from 10:00 AM until service time. The service will be livestreamed at
